I am a self-professed user advocate. I am currently a Senior Interaction Designer with Educational Technology Services at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB). At UCB, I lead their Sakai design effort along with champion user-centered design practices on various internal projects around teaching and learning. Additionally, I am leading the design effort for the Fluid project, fluidproject.org, meant to improve the user experience and design integration in open and community source projects.
I have specialized in designing positive user experiences for users of Web and Desktop applications for over 10 years.. I consulted in a variety of industries in the private sector as a Business Analyst, Usability Specialist and High-Tech Anthropologist before shifting gears several years ago to focus on technology use in Higher Education. I've been an active member of the Sakai design community since its inception. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Michigan.
