Background

Did you ever wonder who designed the uPortal logo and how it was chosen? In early June, 2000, the uPortal community had a design contest to create a logo for JA-SIG's then-brand-new uPortal project. Over 30 logos were submitted and a Zoomerang survey was distributed for people to vote on the best logo.

The following people submitted logos for consideration:

Name Organization
Jill Anderson N/A
Michael Barton Princeton University
Susan Bramhall Yale University
Steve Evans Yale University
Raissa Macasieb-Ludwig Georgetown University
Piet Niederhausen Georgetown University
Lana Rose Georgetown University
Molly Simpson Yale University
Paul Zablosky University of British Columbia
