Developers are encouraged to stay for the remainder of the week (September 21 - 23) for a coding session. A wireless internet connection will be available, but developers will need to bring their own laptops. The purpose of this coding session is to give developers a chance to work together in person on the coding of uPortal 2.x and uPortal 3.

Preparation
It is recommended that you review the following before coming to the uPortal developers meeting:
- The overview document that outlines the major goals of uPortal 3.
- uPortal 3 code that has been developed so far. You can find it in the CVS up3 sandbox module.
- The Pluto Portlet container
- The WSRP4J framework
- The JSR 168 Portlet Specification
- The WSRP Specification
- The Spring Framework, especially the concept of Inversion Of Control (IoC) and the Spring JDBC abstraction framework
- The Sakai Project
- The JA-SIG Jira issue tracking instance, with an eye towards the uPortal 3 Road-map, and the uPortal 2 Road-map

Also, I'd like to maybe add a note about developing some kind of standard convention/API hooks to allow Channels/Portlets to provide pointers to resources like images or CSS files which could then be integrated into CSS based skins...
