Having a wiki page for the table of deployers has been excellent. As we move the uPortal website to Clearinghouse and begin to use Hypercontent to manage it, I think the time has come to take what we've learned from using this web page and move to a more structured approach to maintaining this information.
The data to collect for each deployment would be:
- Name of institution
- URL of institution
- One or more contacts
- Name
- Email address
- Position / role / job title
- Name of portal deployment
- Optional URL of portal deployment
- Optional instructions for demoing the portal
- Zero or more links to tours
- Zero or more additional label, URL pairs to accomodate such things as links to documentation, links to Wiki pages about the deployment, etc.
- Number of users (userbase, daily logins, concurrent sessions? Probably a free-form text field).
- Authentication scheme
- Layout management scheme
- uPortal version
- Hardware
- Free-form wiki-like information about the deployment
These registrations would drive the listing on www.uportal.org as well as a more technical table like that on the Deployed uPortals wiki page.
