Motivation
A frequent criticism of uPortal is its lack of polished, up-to-date documentation. This is interesting because compared to some other projects we have quite a bit of documentation, and much of it is pretty good. So there's a documentation spectrum, and we're somewhere on it.
One hope for this page is that it will allow us to capture documentation requests and match them with experts able to produce the desired documentation.
This page is not a substitute for effectively using this wiki – if there's a page in this wiki that needs updated, that might best be preseted as a comment on that page. If there's a sub-page that's needed, it may be best to stub out that page rather than collaborating on a proposal here.
However, sometimes we don't know where we want the page to go and we're collaborating on what's needed. For those cases, this page may serve well.
How to use this page
On the wishlist below, add entries for the desired documentation, communicating in as much detail as possible what documentation is needed. With what scope? What would the document be titled? Who is the target audience? What questions would the desired document answer?
Interested parties can use this page to collaborate on fleshing out the document requirements and figuring out who's going to fill the documentation need.
This page can also be used for collaborating on how to best link, organize, place existing documentation resources. Often the documentation someone needs exists and it's just hard to find.
