At JHU

Our Integrated Library Systems (ILS) vendor, Dynix, is planning to
release Horizon Information Portal version 4.0 "any day now". HIP is
the online public access catalog component (OPAC) for the Dynix ILS.
HIP v4 is going to be based on uPortal, and we are anxiously awaiting
it. So we won't have to integrate with uPortal itself, since the OPAC
is uPortal. We do however anticipate integrating with other portals
within the institution. Hopefully the vendor hasn't mucked with it too
much to make that chore more difficult.

I know that Oxford and the University of Hull have done work
speficically integrating their uPortal installs with with their Library
services. Stuff like catalog searching, etc.

Good luck,
Elliot
