uPortal 3.0.0-M2 is the second milestone release that includes the following functionality:
- Portlet Management UI
- Portlet Application Definition Publishing & Management
- Portlet Definition Publishing & Management
- Deleting Portlet Application Definitions and Portlet Definitions via the UI is still incomplete
- User Authentication
- The Acegi authentication framework has been integrated
- A the user admin/admin is available by default for demonstration
- uPortal 2 Simple Layout Management
- Layouts for authenticated users may be manipulated using the simple layout manager with integrated modes.
- Portlet Subscription
- While manipulating a layout the Subscription Portlet may be used to select published portlets to add to the layout.
- Hibernate Persistence Layer
- The core portal DAOs have been moved to use Hibernate 3
- WSRP producer/consumer
- uPortal 3 can consume WSRP content and also provide access to its portlets via WSRP
- Portlet Servant API
This release does not include:
- Aggregated layout support
- Authorization
- Locale Support
To start uPortal 3 on a machine with a locale other than en_US you must first set the locale to en_US. On Linux this is done as follows
