Contributed Code and Project Incubation

The purpose of this space is to collaborate on a JA-SIG incubation process. Topics are discussed on the incubation mailing list which is open to all.

The goal is to define and sustain a process for incubating software projects into a vibrant collaborative projects with maintenance and continuation, in the expectation that even if the original contributors walk away, the project will continue.

Contributions

Since there are a number of other sites (Google, SourceForge) where a project can get started before applying for JA-SIG incubation, JA-SIG does not currently offer a "contrib" space for projects not yet in the incubation stage.

The Incubation Process page documents the incubation process for both portlets and other projects.
