I like to listen to podcasts on my way to work and it would be pretty easy to create a uPortal podcast out of the sessions. There could be a video podcast and a just audio podcast. The sessions could also be recorded. The javaposse.com has recorded their conference and made it available.
For those folks that want to participate one of the many web conferencing tools could be used. There are some nice Java based ones which should work for all of us that work with uPortal. We might even be able to record the session as we go and use that to create a podcast.

My work is pretty intense and getting cauliflower ear or hematoma auris http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cauliflower_ear from an iPhone would not be much fun. I would love to listen to the conference or if you must, I could listen to the section that most interests me when it's being held. Skype is another idea too. I've conferenced with some folks in Scotland using Skype and it was acceptable.
