Thanks for your interest in our presentation!

Slides are attached in Powerpoint format, and some screenshots of both the aggregated reader as well as the picklist solution also.

At the presentation most people were in favour of adding this to the uPortal code base, with the comment, the sooner the better.  Feel free to add a comment below to intereact with that idea.

Thanks, and enjoy!...Gerrit

Hi Gerrit,

Looks like a good talk.  Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to go to the conference but I love the fact that I am referenced in your slides! (I am so shallow)  I have also been working on an RSS portlet (based on my bookmarks portlet). It also uses ROME (and Spring, EHCache and Struts Bridge). I have not yet open sourced it (I hopefully will do this sometime soon).

It works using an AJAX proxy and exports OPML. Importing OPML is a little too hit and miss for me at the moment, validating OPML being somewhat problematic.

I also produced a firefox toolbar to integrate with my bookmarks and newsfeeds applications (allowing del.icio.us-like portal interaction).

We are due to go into production with the bookmarks/newsfeeds portlets shortly so the code will almost certainly benefit from some real life usage. I would be happy to contribute if you think it would be helpful.

Best wishes,

Mark McLaren
