If CATALINA_HOME is set, "./ant.sh start" doesn't work.

In my case, I was using:

export CATALINA_HOME=/Users/kajita/Documents/workspace-JASIG2008/pluto

in my .bash_profile.

This appears to be an issue with the Tomcat start scripts. They will honor any CATALINA_* environment variables you have set, the uPortal start/stop scripts can't reasonably check that every possible environment variable is sane for the quickstart to be run under.
