uPortal 2.5.x (built from trunk before 2.5.4 was ever tagged), HSQLDB 1.8, tomcat 5.5.20
If you use the uPortal ant target "deployPortletApp" to deploy a portlet web application archive (war) file that contains more then one period (dot, '.') then any portlets in that web application will not work in uPortal. Tomcat will allow web applications with dots in their name, so it is not a servlet container problem. Most likely this is a problem in either Pluto, or with uPortal and Portlet definition ids (or both).
