John Lewis to deliver keynote address
JA-SIG is very pleased to announce that John Lewis, VP of Product Development at Unicon, will be the Tuesday
keynote speaker at JA-SIG's upcoming Atlanta conference,
"JA-SIG Trade Center"', Sunday through Tuesday, 3-5 December 2006, at the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel Downtown.
BIO:
John is a 15 year veteran of the software development industry. His
passions are large-scale enterprise architecture, open-source
technologies, and agile software development methods. He has been
working heavily in Java-based enterprise information portals since 2001
and became the core developer for Spring Portlet MVC in 2005.
Abstract:
JA-SIG provides a number of open-source enterprise solutions for higher education, including uPortal, CAS, and HyperContent. There are a number of other open-source solutions that are very compelling in higher education, such as Sakai, JForum, Zimbra, and Alfresco.
This address will present a strategy for deploying these application and providing lightweight integration between them. It will also include a showcase demonstration of all these application working together to provide an open architecture for the online campus.
Johns's keynote address is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, at 8:30am.
