The 2006 JA-SIG winter meeting will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, at the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel Downtown, December 3-5, 2006.

Conveniently located on the edge of both midtown and downtown Atlanta, the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel is near the Atlanta Georgia Aquarium, Georgia World Congress Center, Turner Field, High Museum of Art, Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park and Peachtree Center. The guest rooms feature new pillow-top mattresses and down comforter bedding packages, as well as balconies in each room that offer amazing views of the Atlanta skyline.

And, if you’ll be attending the Sakai Conference that follows at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, the Marriott is only ¾ of a mile away and accessible by bus, subway and taxi.

JA-SIG has negotiated a special rate of $139 per night. This rate is subject to state and local taxes, currently 15%. In order to confirm your reservation, you must provide a major credit card. The credit card will only hold the room and will not be charged unless the reservation is cancelled less than 24 hours prior to scheduled check-in. Guests wishing to avoid an early checkout fee should advise the hotel at or before check-in of any change in planned length of stay.

The JA-SIG Conference room rate of $139 may be available three days before and three days after the conference dates for those that wish to extend their stay at the Renaissance. The JA-SIG room block will be held until November 30, 2006, or until the block is full. After this date, the rooms will be released and reservations will be taken based on availability and may not be available at the group rate.

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is located 11 miles south of the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel. With more than 2,400 flights arriving and departing each day, the Atlanta airport is a major domestic and international hub for 26 airlines including: Air Canada , Air France, America West, American, British Airways, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Lufthansa, Northwest, and United.

Shuttle service by The Atlanta Link is available to the hotel for US$16.50 one-way or $29 round-trip. You can make your shuttle reservation in advance by calling The Atlanta Link at +1-404-524-3400or online at www.theatlantalink.com. You can also get a shuttle when you arrive at the airport by going to the pink bus aisle outside of the baggage claim area. Shuttle service is available during flight operating hours.

Attendees can also use the public train system MARTA to get to the hotel. The Renaissance is located diagonally across from the North Avenue Station. The North-South rail line runs from the Airport to the North Avenue Station. The current fare for MARTA is $1.75 each way. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Taxi service is also provided by a number of companies from the airport. The cost is approximately $24 one way at this time.
