Rates |
The Austin Marriott at the Capitol is ideally
located near the Austin Convention Center and all of the downtown
attractions that make Austin famous including Sixth Street and the
Warehouse District where visitors can find live music any night of
the week. All guest rooms feature "The Room that Works", meaning
that all rooms have a full-sized desk, an ergonomic chair, task
lighting, dual line telephones and wired high speed internet
access. All rooms are also outfitted with Marriott's new line of
luxury bedding, pillows and mattresses. For $9.95 per day,
attendees can get unlimited high speed internet, free local calls
and free long distance calls within the US.
JA-SIG has negotiated a special rate of $129 per night.
This rate is subject to state and local taxes, currently 15%. In
order to confirm your reservation, you must provide a major credit
card. The credit card will only hold the room and will not be
charged unless the reservation is cancelled less than 72 hours
prior to scheduled check-in. Guests wishing to avoid an early
checkout fee should advise the hotel at or before check-in of any
change in planned length of stay.
The JA-SIG Conference room rate of $129 will be available three
days before and three days after the conference dates for those
that wish to extend their stay at the Marriott. The JA-SIG room
block will be held until 5:00PM Central Time on November 6,
2005. After this date, the rooms will be released and
reservations will be taken based on availability and may not be
available at the group rate.

Attractions |
The Austin Marriott is
within easy walking distance of many of the attractions that make
Austin famous. Sixth street, five blocks from the hotel, is home to
over 50 night clubs and bars where jazz, blues, country, bluegrass,
and rock and roll music are played live nightly. The Warehouse
District is also about five blocks away and is home to the more
trendy, up-scale hot spots in Austin. And, if you'll be attending
the Sakai/SEPP conference that follows at the Hilton Austin, it is
adjacent the Austin Convention Center which is a ½ mile from
the Marriott. If you prefer to stay in one hotel for your visit,
the walk should be pleasant as the weather is generally mild in
December, averaging about 62 degrees Fahrenheit (17 degrees
Celsius).

Austin-Bergstrom
International Airport is located 10 miles southeast of the Austin
Marriott. The airport is serviced by the following airlines:
America West, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Northwest,
Southwest, and United. There are direct flights into Austin from 33
U.S. cities. International travelers will have to connect in a
major U.S. city such as Atlanta, Chicago, Denver or Dallas.
Shuttle service by SuperShuttle is available to the hotel for
US$10 one-way. You can make your shuttle reservation in advance by
calling SuperShuttle at 1-800-258-3826 or +1-512-258-3826 or you
can simply get a shuttle when you arrive at the airport by going to
the counter located in the baggage claim area. Shuttle service is
available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
