Travel To Vancouver Proof of Citizenship
Proof of citizenship is required of all individuals entering Canada. Given tightened security measures, it is recommended that everyone have a passport. However, the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. (202) 682-1740, indicates that a certified copy of your birth certificate is okay. The specific airline you travel on may require more proof (i.e. US driver's license) as they can be heavily fined for admitting people illegally. Naturalized US citizens should carry documents proving citizenship (i.e., a green card). Overseas visitors will need a valid passport and possibly an entry visa depending on their home country. Vancouver International Airport
Vancouver International Airport is one of the finest international air travel facilities in the world. Vancouver is easy to get to and the following airlines provide service: Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, America West Airlines, American, Continental, Northwest, TWA, and United. A number of international airlines also provide service to Vancouver.

Ground Transportation
The Vancouver Airporter departs regularly, approximately every 40 minutes to downtown hotels, including the Sheraton, beginning at 5:25 a.m. daily. The cost is $12.00 (Canadian) one way or $18.00 (Canadian) per person round trip. Call 604-946-8866 for details.

The Sheraton is within easy walking distance of a number of attractions so a car is not recommended. Vancouver has a sophisticated transportation system including city buses, SkyTrains, SeaBuses, and Ferries. For more information on the transit system see www.tourismvancouver.com.

Currency Canadian dollars are used in Canada. However, US dollars are widely accepted. The US dollar goes a long way in Canada. For the past several years this has meant $1.00 US equals approximately $1.50 Canadian. For an easy conversion table see www.x-rates.com/calculator.html.

Special Needs We are committed to making conference activities accessible and enjoyable for all. If you have any type of special need, such as a physical disability or special dietary requirements, indicate by checking Special Needs on the registration form and we will call you.
